You can’t make this stuff up! With Occupants growing more and more lawless as the Occupy Movement drags on, and arrests continue to rise, Quadrant 2, Inc has created an “I’m Getting Arrested” app for Android.
According to the Android Market site:
Alert your lawyer, loved ones, etc … that you are being arrested with a click.
I’m Getting Arrested enables anyone, with one click, to broadcast a custom message to SMS numbers in the event they are arrested.
Once the app is app is set up with a custom message (limited to 160 maximum characters) and pre-entered SMS-ready numbers, an arrestee can simply fire up the application and send out an alert to pre-designated numbers with a two-second swipe on a bullseye. According to CNET, the app was designed with protesters in mind.
“Inspired by a real Occupy Wall Street incident. Free to the other 99%,” the app’s developer, Quadrant 2, writes on the Android Market’s site.
To date, the app is not supported by Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media networks, but that can’t be that far behind. The app is available in several languages.
