kiel opera house, the first uso, should be open today to all veterans and their families. A ‘welcome back’ celebration would triple or quadruple attendance at the parade. And the opera house, ‘big brother’ to the memorial, should be raising money to repair, restore and maintain it. They are connected. This is our neglected historic civic center.

It is 2015 and still St. Louis historic civic center west of Tucker is victim of the grand center power and other interests. There is no end to the horrible beer blasts on the Memorial Grounds, Market St and the Plazas remain dark at night and the first USO, Kiel Opera House is kept dark while special, favored companies and people come in the side doors for private and corporate parties. This stinks, still.
