Missouri Vote on Second Amendment Preservation Act

February 25, 2013
GodGunsIn a culture caught up in firearm fear, fueled by the mainstream media, state officials are positioned to vote on legislation to preserve the very life of the Second Amendment in Missouri.
HB 436, sponsored by Rep. Doug Funderburk, (R)- St. Charles County, is the strongest protection of the right to keep and bear arms in the entire nation
The hearing for HB 436, originally slated for a vote Tuesday, February 26, is now expected in public hearing, March 5th at 12:00 in Hearing Room 4, but the official hearing schedule will not be published until later this week. This provides a greater opportunity for Missouri residents to voice their support of their Second Amendment rights by filling out a witness form.
From perhaps the most patriotic lobbyist in Missouri, Ron Calzone at Missouri First:
Details about HB 436 & and it’s companion Senate bill  SB 325Since the 10th Amendment makes it clear that all powers not granted to the federal government are reserved to the states and the People, the regulation of the ownership of arms is a state, not a federal matter. That applies to ALL such regulation.

We must demand from our legislators no less than the strongest, most principled stand they can take to defend our right to keep and bear arms!

Rep. Doug Funderburk and Sen. Brian Nieves’ “Second Amendment Preservation Act” is the strongest and most principled protection of the right to keep and bear arms in the nation!.

Notice that it utilizes the words of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison to explain Missouri’s authority to nullify unconstitutional federal edicts within her borders. Including this language is essential to the success of the bill. It also specifically lists the types of things we will not put up with, and that’s what gives state officials the “cover” they need to enforce the bill.

Tenth Amendment Center article about HB 436.

What you can do:

  1. Right NOW, either plan to attend the hearing for HB 436 (time to be announced), or fill out the online witness form..
  2. Pass on this email or another with the generic witness form link to as many liberty loving people as you can.
  3. If you have any personal contact with your rep or senator ask them to commit to supporting these bills.

Ron has upped the ante offering to hand deliver your witness form and also make your testimony available online for the committee to read. You can email your witness form and additional testimony directly to Ron at

CRPD: The Disabled Newborn Registration Act. . .and the End of Personal Freedom

UPDATE: URGENT!!! Senate set to ratify CRPD 12pm EST, December 4, 2012

How many of you have heard of CRPD (more exhaustively known as the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities)? Probably few of you.  In fact, in a quick google search, of the hundreds of hits endorsing the legislation, not a single one actually had a link to the Bill, or explanation of it’s wording.

Not here: USICD, nor here: National Association or the Deaf, not here: National Federation for the Blind, not even on The Hill …thank goodness Clay Aiken tweeted his support out.

First of all, this is not state legislation, this is not federal legislation…this is a UN treaty agreement.

Article Eleven:

States Parties shall take, in accordance with their obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law and international human rights law, all necessary measures to ensure the protection and safety of persons with disabilities in situations of risk, including situations of armed conflict, humanitarian emergencies and the occurrence of natural disasters.

This, in essence, makes the States the UN’s bitch, for lack of a better term.

Now, why in the world would it be necessary to enter into an agreement with the UN to register at birth and track anyone with disabilities? Why would legislation be written to mandate that all newborns with disabilities have the right to a name?  Why would legislation be written to mandate that all newborns with disabilities have the right to be raised by their birth parents?

The answer to this puzzling piece of legislation is directly connected to the longitudinal database system…the final piece of the puzzle. MissouriEducationWatchdog has spent the better part of three years researching and documenting government sanctioned database system.  CRPD is simply one more arm in this system. By documenting people born with disabilities from birth, the government will be able to track that person via school records, medical records, employment history, socio-economic status, political preference, and so on.

Sounds crazy, right? Feel free to research the longitudinal database system for yourself…then take a few days to absorb and wrap your head around it.

In a nutshell, this program collects and tracks data of each individual…it has gone so far to take digital fingerprints of children without legal consent. Based upon the information gathered, government agencies can determine who will be a contribution to society, who will only amount to menial labor, who will live on entitlement programs, disabled persons who can be exploited for government purposes (neat wording for a pat om the back) based upon their accomplishments, and so on.

Yes, all of your information neatly collected in one nice little UN sanctioned package…your childrens’ too.  This is not about better education, it is about surrender of sovereignty…and the worst of it, the government is exploiting disabled persons to further their agenda.

URGENT: MO State Senate to Discuss Vote on Obamacare: ACTION NEEDED!

H/T Ron Calzone, Paul Hamby, Peter Kinder:

1. The Obamacare exchange is NOT simply an online resource for shopping insurance. It sets up new restrictions and penalties that will reduce your options. Some smaller insurance companies have already gone out of business — Obamacare will leave only a few huge insurace companies with monopolistic protections.

2. An exchange set up by the state does not give us control. HB609, the 2011 bill to set up a Missouri exchange included at least 40 references to federal laws or bureaucracies that dictate virtually every meaningful aspect of the exchange. Click for a marked up copy of HB609.

And here’s the Missouri First analysis of that bill.

Here are a couple of very good articles by the Cato Institute’s Michael F. Cannon pointing out the need to fight the exchange:

Action Item:

Call or email each Republican senator. Time is very short as they will be discussin this Friday and Saturday. Tell them the people of Missouri don’t want them to set up an Obamacare exchange any more than they want the governor to. The sentiment behind the Prop E vote applies to them, too!

Claire McCaskill Slings Burgers, Mocks Constituents-Unemployed-Economy

Senatorial Incumebent Claire McCaskill made a stop in Rolla, Missouri (pronounced “Mis-our-ree”, not “Mis-our-UH”, Senator) where ago donned an apron and slung burgers. According to  Rolla Daily Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill donned a waitressing apron, dishing out hamburgers and pizza to a small crowd of about 40.
Claiming that she supports federal government interference in student loans, McCaskill mocked college graduates by partaking in the only jobs graduates and unemployed can find.
Apparently, McCaskill found it cutely symbolic to engage in a job clearly below her standards.  Mocking her Missouri constituents is hardly what a country that is hurting in the Second Great Depression. Somehow, McCaskill, who sided up with President Obama in voting in the largest job-killing legislation in history, believes this is fitting behavior for a seated Senator.
As constituents feel the agonizing tightening wrenches of record high cost if living: food, gas, textiles, taxes, and supplementing childrens’ public education out of pocket, her “symbolic gesture” is flat-out insulting. Many Missourians are turning to the only jobs left in this economy…menial work. These jobs are not below those who take them, but for many, it is strickly means for survival, a desperate act in a dying economy. If you are not a Senator who pocketed $40 MILLION in stimulus money as McCaskill did, you just gotta do what you gotta do to put bread in the table. The only thing beneath these struggling people of Missouri is jumping on the entitlement bandwagon.
Come November 6, constituents have two choices: their jobs, or McCaskill’s.

McCaskill Turns Boogeyman: Flips Stance on Coal

Remember in November: McCaskill’s stance on coal…no matter how she and the mainstream media try to spin it!
From The Gateway Pundit:

Awful… McCaskill Votes for Expensive New Coal Regulations But Denies It on Her Website June 20th, 2012 by Jim Hoft In case we needed further proof that Claire McCaskill’s rhetoric doesn’t match her record… This morning, Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) voted with her party to implement the EPA’s MACT rule, one of the costliest regulations in U.S. history—and one that will prove especially devastating to coal-dependent states such as Missouri. The measure voted on today would have overturned regulations that coal industry groups have said will hurt the economy, close power plant doors and raise electricity costs. McCaskill voted for the costly new regulations. Apparently her campaign didn’t get the memo. Here’s a screen grab from her site’s “Energy” issue page:

It’s bad enough that Claire voted for expensive new regulations that will force Missouri electricity prices to skyrocket… It’s worse that she’s not honest about it.

Akin Raises $1 MIL Online

This letter was just sent by Congressman Todd Akin who is now running for the Missouri Senate.
Regardless of the recent controversy, you have a choice: a 6 second gaffe, or (another) 6 year term for McCaskill? What matters more?

Stand with Todd Akin to defeat Claire! Click here to donate now. Is this email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser.

Friends, we did it! We have now officially passed the $1 million mark in online fundraising, and it’s all because of YOU!

That’s obviously good news. The bad news is that Claire McCaskill is continuing to outspend us substantially across Missouri on television ads.

She may have the money, but we have the numbers…thousands of people have stepped up to the plate in support of our campaign, and we’ll continue to need your help in these critical last few week.

We know how important it is to keep Claire McCaskill out of the Senate. Whether its been personally enriching herself on the stimulus or casting the deciding vote in favor of Obamacare, she has been a disaster for Missouri and for our nation.

Please, continue your support, and encourage your friends and neighbors to get involved as well. You can do so here.

Forward this to a friend with the link above, and ask them to sign up today!

Now, we only have prayer, our pocketbooks and our voice at the ballot to make this happen.
Does the tea party still have a voice? If so, we need to show the strength we have to put our priciples behind Akin. Be heard! Be loud! Stand strong!
